Maria Kim uses her training as a Registered Dietitian (RD), Diabetes Specialist (CDCES), and Certified Body Trust® Specialist to help people dismantle misinformation around diabetes, and learn to care for their bodies in a meaningful way. Maria believes everyone deserves evidence based, shame-free, and individualized eating care, and her approach is rooted in compassion and collaboration. Maria’s goal is helping you feel understood and empowered in your journey.

Experience and Education:

Maria has extensive experience and expertise in supporting people with diabetes, people with eating disorders, and with other related conditions. Maria has a particular interest in working with teens and adolescents, people newly diagnosed with diabetes, and individuals with complex medical and/or mental health conditions.

Prior to joining Lauren Newman Nutrition Therapy, Maria worked with people recovering from eating disorders in PHP and IOP programs. She also gained experience in nutrition counseling related to the perinatal period, infant and child nutrition, and breastfeeding/ chestfeeding. Additionally, Maria is trained in clinical pediatrics and feeding therapy for children with feeding challenges.
