Lauren Newman, RD, LD, CDCES, CEDS
Lauren Newman is a registered dietitian (RD), a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES), and a certified eating disorders specialist (CEDS). Lauren is an expert in co-occurring diabetes and eating disorders, and leader in the integration of GLP-1s into eating disorder care. Lauren is focused on evidence-based care at the intersection of diabetes, eating disorders, and GLP-1 therapy.
Experience and Education:
Prior to starting her private practice, Lauren worked at an eating disorder treatment center, supporting clients in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment. Lauren also has experience supporting patients with diabetes in endocrinology clinics and diabetes camps.
Lauren’s approach combines the foundations of weight inclusive care and Intuitive Eating with therapeutic modalities such as EFFT, DBT, and ACT to help clients connect with their body’s needs and learn to respond without rigidity, restriction, or shame. Lauren also strongly values collaboration in her work: both collaboration with clients’ medical teams, as well as with her clients (no one knows your body better than you!)
