Emily is an Occupational Therapy Doctorate student at Abilene Christian University, completing her capstone on the role of occupational therapy in diabetes management in partnership with Lauren Newman Nutrition Therapy.

Experience and Education:

My name is Emily, and I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Abilene Christian University. As part of my doctoral capstone project, I am exploring the role of occupational therapy in supporting individuals with diabetes management. I am excited to be partnering with Lauren Newman Nutrition Therapy through December.

My passion for this work is deeply personal: my brother lives with Type 1 diabetes, and his journey has inspired me to advocate for and educate others navigating life with diabetes. I approach my practice with a collaborative, holistic perspective that values the whole person, not just their diagnosis.

Outside of my studies and work, I enjoy spending time in nature, visiting the beach, being with dogs, reading, and playing games with family and friends.
