In honor of Diabetes Awareness Month this November, join Emily, an occupational therapy doctoral student, for a series of engaging 30-minute workshops! These workshops are designed to help you build confidence with diabetes self-management while supporting your participation in the activities that matter most to you. Each session combines practical information with realistic, everyday strategies to support you in balancing diabetes with daily life.
This session on balanced eating and meal prep will cover the basics of nutrition, including the roles of different essential nutrients and food groups in supporting your body. You’ll also learn practical strategies for incorporating this information, including meal tracking, simple meal planning, and easy cooking techniques you can use in your day-to-day life.

Quality sleep is essential for both physical and mental health, yet many people find it difficult to maintain a consistent sleep routine. Living with diabetes can add to these challenges. This workshop on rest and sleep will highlight the connection between quality sleep and diabetes care, as well as provide practical strategies to help you get better rest.

Digital Boundaries for Diabetes: A Workshop on Healthy Engagement with Diabetes Content
Feeling overwhelmed by diabetes content online? You’re not alone! This interactive workshop and conversation will help you learn to navigate online diabetes spaces with intention, curate what you see, and create a supportive experience that protects your wellbeing.
The online diabetes community can be a powerful source of information and connection, but it can also feel overwhelming or stressful at times. In this interactive workshop and conversation, we’ll help you reflect on how you currently engage online, and explore what types of content feel supportive and empowering, vs what might be leaving you feeling unsettled.
You’ll learn practical strategies to make your digital spaces work for you, including tips for curating what you see, setting healthy digital boundaries, and engaging with intention to make the online diabetes community work for you. Whether you want to feel more in control of your social media experience or simply create a safer, more positive online space, this workshop will give you tools, insight, and a supportive environment to explore these ideas.
