We know there are lots of mixed feelings, uncertainty, and noise around GLP-1 medications. Changes in appetite, eating patterns, and the conversations surrounding these medications can feel confusing or isolating—especially for people with a history of disordered eating or eating disorders.

This clinician-led support group offers a weight-inclusive, eating-disorder-informed space to learn about GLP-1 medications and explore your thoughts and experiences in a supportive community. Sessions include education, guided discussion, and reflection, with an emphasis on nutrition adequacy, safety, and protecting your relationship with food & body.

Discussions and learning will generally focus on the following:

  • Science: you’ll be provided with education and context around the history of these medications, what they do, and how they work (in an easy to understand way).

  • Side effects: we’ll review the risks and the benefits of these medications, discuss their side effect profiles, and you’ll gain some insight around navigating potential side effects.

  • Societal implications: together we will explore and reflect on the larger conversation happening around these medications and the implications for the future of healthcare, weight inclusive care and community, and eating disorder recovery.

  • Perspective: though an understanding of the science, an exploration of your own values, and community discussion, we hope you’ll feel supported to develop your own opinions and beliefs about this class of medications and their place in your wellbeing or healing.

When: Tuesdays from 6-7pm EST beginning January 27th 2026. This group will run for 10 consecutive weeks.

Facilitated by: Lauren Newman, RD, LD, CDCES, CEDS

Where: Online via Zoom

Please reach out to us with any questions! We would be more than happy to chat with you.
